Santa Monica, California (February 22) - GreatEscape2005: The Global Scavenger HuntT, the around-the-world travel adventure competition that annually crowns The World's Greatest TravelersT, is looking for a travel writer to join and cover this year's event.

The 3rd annual installment of The Global Scavenger HuntT has been written about in hundreds of publications from Thailand to Scotland, been seen on scores of TV and radio stations from Toronto to Sydney, and its website has become an invaluable resource among savvy globetrotters. So far, an international array of explorers and adventurers from over 35 countries has applied to participate in the competition! GreatEscape2005 is looking to round out it's group of media participants for this year's competition and is looking for a special travel writer with a demonstrated ability to get articles published to join the event as an objective media partner who will be given an insiders POV of the annual travel adventure competition.

The selected travel professional will have full access to all the annual events activities and competing Teams, ready access to the Event Director and other road officials, as well as the ability to fully participate in the travel adventure competition itself--but due to this special arrangement, they will not be permitted to win the event. This is a one-time offer to only those truly serious about traveling around-the- world for this spring for three weeks between April 15th and May 8th.

It's cheap--but it ain't free!

The selected travel writer will be offered the special reduced press rate--that will include all international airfare, 23-nights in hotels and about 40% of meals-of $4,950. (Based on double occupancy.)

GreatEscape2005: The Global Scavenger Hunt is an annual travel adventure competition designed for independent competitors to test their travel savvy while performing culturally-oriented scavenges in at least 10 countries on 4 continents over the three-week event. The event's unofficial motto is: trusting strangers in strange lands, and also doubles as A Blind Date With The WorldT in light of the fact that the participants have no prior knowledge of any of the countries they will be visiting. The winners, based on points accumulated, split prizes and cash up to $100,000 and The World's Greatest TravelersT title. The one-of-a-kind international event is used as a fundraising platform for the GreatEscape Foundation's annual $1 million goal for international humanitarian groups like: Doctors Without Borders, CARE, Mercy Corps International, World Monuments Fund, UNICEF, the International Special Olympics and Habitat of Humanity International.

Worthy travel writers are asked to first visit the official website at: GlobalScavengerHunt.com and after understanding all the terms of your participation, are invited to file an onsite Contestants Application noting your interest as a travel writer in the comment space provided. Serious inquires only please.
