The 28-day session includes two daily yoga lessons interspersed with instructional components in anatomy and physiology and hands-on practical experience. On down time, students are free to explore the Tulum area, venture to the beachfront Mayan ruins, and snorkel in the shallow reefs offshore or in cenotes (underground sinkholes).

This March 30 - April 2, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the American Writers & Artists Institute is meeting for their first workshop of the year.

Tim O'Reilly graduated from this program two years ago having never written an article in his life. As a freelance photographer he has occasion to travel, and he was looking for a way to get more mileage (and more money) out of his journeys.

As soon as he got home to California, he put the lessons he learned at AWAI's Travel Writing Workshop to the test and sat down to write. Two months later, his first full-length feature article about travels in the Mayan World appeared in Vision Magazine. Since then, he's written two more cover stories for that publication.

Barbara Bode joined AWAI in Paris and she sold two pieces she wrote during it to In Touch, an upscale membership magazine for women. Now she writes a regular column for that publication. A recent transplant from Washington to Malta, Barbara sold a story about her new home to Transitions Abroad. Then, in the market for a refresher course -- and some fun -- Barbara joined AWAI on their Travel Writer cruise down Mexico's Pacific coast. While on board, she wrote a piece about swimming with dolphins and has since sold it to another women's publication.

If you've ever considered the life of a travel writer or you just want to polish your skills, join AWAI in Buenos Aires this March 30 - April
2 where you'll...

** Learn the secrets of becoming a successful travel writer from a group of the best editors and writers in the business...

** Discover techniques travel writers use to find and arrange press trips, gain VIP access, enjoy travel perks, and more...

** Walk away with a short publishable piece... and the contact information for editors who are looking for articles they can pay for and print...

** Find out how easy it is to earn extra income while you travel the world... meet new people... and enjoy the freedom and independence of a writer's life...

For full details, visit http://www.thetravelwriterslife.com/workshop/hh

In Buenos Aires, you'll learn the ins and outs of travel writing. On your breaks, you'll be out exploring, gathering material for articles and putting what you've learned to practice. The program has been designed so that you'll come away at the end of the week with at least one "publishable" piece in hand.

During this intensive, hands-on program, you'll learn--

** Exactly how, step-by-step, you turn an idea into a publishable article... and then how you actually get what you've written into the pages of a magazine.

** Where to find the publications that make the most sense for your story, what to put in your letter to the editor, when to send your article... and we'll give you the insider's list of what NOT to do (you'd be surprised at how many writers have no idea what makes editors crazy...)

** Five foolproof secrets to writing a saleable article every time...
how to choose the right words... how to write powerful sentences...
what to put first, and how to draw your piece to a close.

** How to avoid the three biggest mistakes new writers make when they write travel articles from their own point of view.

** How to take one research trip and come home with three articles...
which means three times the income... and that's just the beginning...

Past sessions -- held in Paris, Las Vegas, Chicago, San Diego and in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico -- have sold out immediately. This workshop gives you the opportunity for one-on-one attention and useful, hands-on practice under the guidance of professional writers who will share with you the insights and secrets they've learned on- the-job.

The faculty includes Jennifer Stevens, freelance travel writer and former editor of International Living and Island Properties Report; John Forde, a copywriter and freelancer who is one of Agora Publishing's most accomplished writers; and Steenie Harvey, a freelance travel writer who has written for the likes of The Washington Post and The World & I as well as many other publications in the States, Ireland, Britain, Australia, and Germany.

Participants from past workshops sing its praises:
"I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. I found the content useful and very well presented - very well thought-out. I had reservations about participating ...and was also concerned that the reality would not match the "hype". Instead I found incredible substance, great "how to" tips and solid advice, based on real experience. All this and approachable, amusing folks too! Great job. Thanks for doing this." -- Sharon I.

"An excellent orientation for people who are interested in writing for a living, but who need a little push or encouragement to try to do so." -- Ruth Ann G.

"Best workshop I've attended in many, many years -- focused, practical tools and templates for successful travel writing and the nuts and bolts of how to get published." -- Nadia B.

"The course is thorough and well-organized, offering valuable, useful information learned and presented by actual working professional writers. I am somewhat astonished by their generosity in imparting their hard-earned knowledge." -- Carol D.

VIETNAM HALONG BAY: SAIL BACK IN TIME ON THE LUXURY HISTORICAL CRUISE BOAT EMERAUDE

Old world charm resurfaced on the calm water of Halong Bay with the launch of a magnificent five star vessel Emeraude modeled in the tradition of the grand old single wheeled paddle steamer of the colonial era.

One of the great natural wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Halong Bay covers an area of 1,500 km² over which are scattered thousands of limestone islands and grottoes rising from the clear, emerald waters of the Gulf of Bac Bo. The majestic beauty of the bay and its islands is only fully appreciated while meandering among the islands, fjords and inlets.

The original Emeraude was one of the flotillas owned by the Roque family who left Bordeaux in 1858 in search of fame and fortune. The fleet cruised along Indochina waterways and Halong Bay in the olden days. The original Emeraude sank in the Bay in 1937.

Using advanced techniques, French architects painstakingly modeled the new vessel from old photos and drawings found at the Paris' Maritime Museum.

Passengers can now relax, seek total comfort in the luxurious cabins or enjoy the beautiful sea breeze on the sun deck and enjoy the splendor and serenity of nature.

The Emeraude operates daily a two days, one night cruise. For lunch and dinner, passengers get to enjoy delicious freshly caught seafood and Vietnamese specialties. In the morning, an American style breakfast is served onboard the colonial vessel.

For passengers who want more than just cruising around, the Emeraude also offer afternoon tea, traditional body massages and sunrise Tai Chi classes. The trip is completely flexible offering wide variety of options for all.

Designed with 38 Luxurious Cabins and one Suite, the 55 meter vessel is equipped with modern standards of comfort and safety. With inspiration from historic steamers, Emeraude was designed with the grandeur of yesteryear - refined interior décor, a 80-seat restaurant, bars, shops, massage rooms, swimming platform, complete with entertainment features and a boutique shop for souvenir collectors.

It also has a 350m2 open upper deck lounge bar for holiday-makers to relax, sip their favorite champagne totally engulfed in the beautiful scenic Halong Bay.

Ha Long Bay or Bay of the Descending Dragons is the UNESCO heritage site surrounded by crystal clear water hence the perfect spot for eco- tourism. Build with Eco friendly water and waste treatment systems, Emeraude received special permission from the Halong Tourism Authority to cruise within protected, natural reserves and gulfs of Halong Bay.

Top 10 Travel To Do's for 2005

Whistler, British Columbia, Canada (January 13) - With our sincere apologies to David Letterman, and a nod to our fascination with annual lists, the following are the Top 10 Travel To Do's for 2005:

10. Take in a concert at the recently refurbished La Scala Opera House, Milan, Italy.
9. Take the train from Helsinki to St. Petersburg to Moscow.
8. Mix your travels with doing some good for those in need this year.
7. Attend the Sacred Music Festival, Fez, Morocco.
6. Trek to Angel Falls though the Grand Sabana in Venezuela.
5. Spend the night in a traditional Japanese ryokan in Kyoto, Japan.
4. Take an afternoon sipping mint tea in the Istanbul Grand Bazaar, Turkey.
3. Take a photo safari to the Rajasthan province of India.
2. Visit at least one of the Seven Wonders of the World this year!

...And the Number One Top Travel To Do for 2005?

1. Take A Blind Date With The World and enter GreatEscape2005:
The Global Scavenger Hunt!

And speaking of our collective fantasy about traveling around-the- world exploring the far-flung corners of the earth: The Global Scavenger Hunt's 3rd annual travel adventure competition may be your passport to make your dreams come true and possibly win $100,000!

You might also be checking off several of the Top 10 Travel To Do's for 2005 while you're at it!

Beginning April 15th, 2005, and over the next three weeks, 50 intrepid global adventurers will take an incredible Blind Date With The World (travelers won't know their destinations until they're onboard a 747 over the International Dateline) and visit at least 10 countries on 4 continents in the annual travel competition that will crown "The World's Greatest Travelers" in New York City on May 8th. They'll be traveling from Los Angeles to New York - the long way!

Outside magazine calls The Global Scavenger Hunt "...one of the most amazing trips in the world!" NPR's "Savvy Traveler" host Dianna Nyad, thinks that GreatEscape "...is just such a great idea!" And nationally syndicated Pierre Wolf of "Pack Your Bags," agrees saying that the competition is "The most remarkable travel adventure I've ever heard of...truly, a one of a kind global event. This is what travel should be all about!" So far, travelers from 30 countries have applied to join the adventure.

"It is like Survivor, The Amazing Race, and the Eco-Challenge all rolled into one except with much more cultural interaction," is how one previous competitor, Marvin S. of Canada, explained his participation in the last global competition that combines the style of the 19th Century Grand Tours with the jet-setter reality of 21st Century travel. But the Amazing Race and Survivor reality shows are strictly for amateur wannabes and armchair voyeurs. This real world travel adventure is for the truly travel savvy among us who crave authentic adventure, genuine exotic travel, intimate cultural immersions, real competition and world-class fun.

Sure it took Magellan over three years to do it and Jules Verne's Phileas Fogg character 80-days to do it. Amelia Earhart would have made it in about 45 days. It takes the Space Station just 38 minutes to do it. And it will take those traveling in GreatEscape2005 just 23 days to do it. The "it" they share, is circumnavigating the globe!

And by the time one daring Team (2 travelers per Team) competing in annual The Global Scavenger Hunt finish the hundreds of exotic cultural scavenges and crosses the finish line, all 25 Teams will have collectively walked, bicycled, flown, boated and ridden camels, elephants, ox-carts, tuk-tuked and rickshaws, over a million miles! But there are more than clues to uncover and $100,000 in prizes to win. There are lives to be changed.

The Indiana Jones and Jane's competing in the annual travel adventure is helping to raise funds toward a $1million goal for humanitarian groups like: Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, CARE, Mercy Corps International, Heifer Project, International Special Olympics, Global Green, Habitat for Humanity International and the World Monuments Fund.

"Our cultural immersion will move Teams away from having their noses stuck in guidebooks and get them engaged in the human connection of travel," says William D. Chalmers, travel book author and the event organizer, "It's from those personal interactions and intimate experiences that we grow. That's what GreatEscape2005 is all about: having our travelers trust strangers in strange lands."

"Some have called our annual event the 'Olympics of Travel', some refer to it as 'A Blind Date with the World' because our travelers won't have any foreknowledge as to where they're going until they're onboard a 747 bound for parts unknown, some have even called it a 'Magical Mystery Tour'. I liked that one," continues Chalmers.

"The Global Scavenger Hunt annual expedition has certainly captured the attention of some of the world's best travelers and that's what we created this truly international travel adventure competition." And Chalmers, as the winner of a previous around-the-world race, organizing this annual travel competition has become a dream come true. "I would love to participate, but setting up this annual event is equally challenging. We're attracting world-class contestants."
National Geographic Adventure magazine recently knighted Chalmers the "world's greatest traveler." (April 2002)

Travelers are asked to either raise or pay at least $7,900 to the GreatEscape Foundation to enter the Spring 2005 event. Fees include all international airfare, 23-days in first class hotels and about 40% of meals. (Portions of the fee may be tax-deductible and travelers are asked to please consult their tax advisor.) All interested travelers should contact the GreatEscape Foundation at 310.281.7809 or visit the world famous commercial-free travel website at http://www.GlobalScavengerHunt.com.

Truly the "Olympics of travel adventure," like 1930's anthropologist- adventurers hot on the path of the Holy Grail, Teams will earn points by completing a series of cultural-oriented scavenges in each of the 10 exotic international destinations. A true cultural immersion, the event is designed to be a rally rather than a flat out race to test the wildly diverse Teams ability to combat not only jetlag, but language difficulties, Team dynamics, cultural differences, the inevitable logistical snafus and the ever present heat of competition.

Participants of the first event enjoyed the thrill of the competition, the mystery aspect, the cultural immersion, the food and the hotels.

Here's what a few competitors said of their experience competing in The Global Scavenger Hunt travel adventure:

Randy H. of California: "A cross between Abercrombie & Kent and Lonely Planet!...and I am richer for the experiences!"

Victoria R. of New York: "...the concept of not knowing my destinations was a wonderful experience, and finding random items in markets all over the world was one of my favorite parts of the scavenger hunt. My charade skills have been fine-tuned!"

Couch potatoes need not apply. This real world travel adventure competition is only for the hardiest and most travel savvy Type-A globetrotters. GreatEscape2005: The Global Scavenger Hunt is for those who crave authentic adventure, genuine exotic travel, real competition and world-class fun. Travelers and adventurers participating in GreatEscape2005 will be limited to using public transportation only while solving clues in country. Sample GreatEscape2005 scavenges could
include:

* Ride a four-legged beast around one of the Seven Wonders of the World wearing a traditional Arab galabyia and headdress purchased in Khan al-Khalili. (Shop in Cairo's ancient Grand Bazaar before riding a camel at the Pyramids.)

* At this World Heritage Site there are over 50 temples, visit the one where rodents roam freely and explain why? (In Kathmandu visit the sacred Hiranya Varna Mahabihar aka Rat Temple, where the living guardian of Vishnu lives and is guarded by the holy rodents.)

* Sing "Feelings" at a Ginza district karaoke bar with at least four other local patrons. (Tune up your pipes with new friends in glitzy
Tokyo!)

* In the 'City of Waters,' partake in a traditional Turkish delight.
(Take a bath in a public bathhouse.)

* Find Juliet's balcony and steal a kiss. (In Verona, Italy find romance!)

"Public transportation makes a foreign environment seem, well, more foreign!" continues Chalmers, "The Teams will get more than some snapshots, a sunburn and souvenirs, they'll replenish their memory banks with exciting and exotic experiences. I suspect, like the Eco- Challenge for physically fit marathon trekkers, that GreatEscape2005 will be the ultimate cocktail hour competition among travelers. More than just a travel and competition however, Teams will be helping to raise a million dollar goal for some wonderful humanitarian organizations."

Unique Holidays – Exchange Conversation for Accommodation in Spain’s Englishtown Project

Madrid, Spain -- For the last three years, over 3,000 people have participated in the unique English language immersion program known as Englishtown. Two venues, a 16th century abandoned village and a plush country-style hotel, play host to a non-stop eight-day intensive conversation program. English native speakers from all over the world come as volunteers to learn about Spaniards and their culture in return for their board and lodging while the Spaniards seek to improve their fluency in the quickest, most intensive manner possible on earth. The participants, both English-speakers and Spaniards, exchange culture, conversation, knowledge and friendship.

Englishtown was the brainchild of Richard Vaughan, a business student from Texas who came to Spain to teach English in the 70’s. “After a quarter-century of language training and experience, I realized no matter how many times a person is drilled on irregular verbs, the only way to truly understand a language is to actively practice it,” says Richard.

This led to the creation of Englishtown – eight-day immersion programs which include a cast of 20 Spaniards, 20 English-speakers from all over the world, a Master of Ceremonies to provide entertainment and a Program Director to enforce the only rule: No Spanish Allowed. All this for 15 hours a day, eight days and no stopping except for your daily siesta. Throw in a mix of activities such as conversations, scenic walks, games, meals and Spanish music and dancing, and somewhere in between the Spaniards find themselves blabbing away in English without having to stop, think and translate.

The idea was so innovative that it won the “Best Awards 2003” prize in Spain and has been featured on dozens of message boards that buzz about a deal almost “too good to be true”, travel guides, major publications and TV stations – CNN, Irish Times and Chicago Tribune to name a few. The lure is easy – English-speakers chat, play, walk, dine and wine with Spaniards with the beautiful backdrop of the Spanish countryside while Vaughan picks up the tab. Multinational clients such as Microsoft, Vodafone, Deloitte and Accenture send scores of executives to Englishtown finding it to be the ideal solution to their problem – a rapid, intense way to get their top directors speaking English.

Over the years, Englishtown has attracted volunteers from all walks of life: concert pianists, writers, CEO’s, social workers, backpackers, geologists, wandering musicians and students from a wide range of ages from 18 to 80 that coin it as having been one of the best, most enriching experiences of their lives.

One Paycheck at a Time eTools, a subscription-based service came to fruition after the One Paycheck at a Time book hit the market in 2004. The eTools are designed as a supplement the book’s principles, but also work well on their own.

It’s the primary objective of the eTools to help people achieve their financial goals by providing interactive tools to:

• Design a personalized debt reduction plan based on individual income and expenses
• Manage spending choices in just a few clicks
• Measure success each pay period
• Receive savings tips, ideas, and inspirational stories, along with a monthly newsletter

One Paycheck at a Time’s eTools are distinctly different from other debt reduction solutions. The differences between these eTools and other money management software applications include:

1. There is no software to install as it is a Web-based application.
2. The wizard shows how to design a debt reduction plan step-by-step.
3. It tailors a personalized debt reduction plan for any income.
4. The program recommends a sensible approach to become debt free.

Most money management software applications direct customers through creating a monthly budget as this typically is the timetable on which expenses are based. “We have been well trained by our creditors to pay them once a month even though we are paid on a different schedule,” states Kimberly A. Griffiths, president and author of One Paycheck at a Time. “More times than not this approach to budgeting creates a cash flow deficit,” she added.

What’s more effective is how One Paycheck at a Time’s eTools guides subscribers through creating a budget and bill payment system based on their pay periods.

Griffiths adds, “If you are struggling to make ends meet paycheck to paycheck, consider budgeting your money differently. Whether you are paid weekly, twice a month, or every other week, eTools will help you time the payment of your expenses in coordination with your pay periods. Although a subtle difference, this shift of money allocation typically improves a person’s cash flow after a few months of applying the principles to their budget.” Once debt free, eTools customers may advance to allocating additional money into the eTools savings program.

The monthly cost of the One Paycheck at a Time eTools subscription service is normally $16.95; however introductory pricing of $12.95 for the first month is being offered for a limited time. Subscribers can save money by purchasing a 3-month subscription for $30, and also will receive the One Paycheck at a Time ebook (value $9.95) free when they sign up.

Don't just budget your money, become debt free, One Paycheck at a Time.
